WELCOME MESSAGE BY THE PRESIDENT OF IGBO WOMEN LEAGUE OF MINNESOTA

Welcome to Igbo women League of Minnesota’s Website. We are glad you are here. These past months have been challenging to our community and the world as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are sincerely hoping that you and yours are keeping safe. Please endeavor to follow the recommendations of health and public authorities for prevention and safe keeping. Please ensure to get the covid19 vaccine when your healthcare team calls on you, for it has been deemed safe and effective in preventing severe complications from the COVID-19 infection.

Igbo Women League of Minnesota has been supporting the Igbo community in Minnesota for over 26 years. Our presence is undeniably conspicuous especially in our support for women and children especially in our ongoing programming with the Youth Mentoring and Leadership Program for children of African Descent here in Minnesota. Our notable projects in Nigeria includes educational support through our scholarship program to deserving young girls from financially challenged households. Igbo Women League of Minnesota (IWL) also provides support to over nine motherless babies homes and homes for the physically and mentally challenged.

We are indeed grateful for your support through these years and highly indebted to your generosity. IWL will not be able to continue all these projects without your immense support, thank you and thank you again.

Even in the face of the adversity that prevailed in the year 2020, IWL was able to fulfill our promise to carry on our projects even if it meant conducting the Youth mentoring and Leadership program virtually. This allowed our youth to benefit from our summer programming even though we could not physically assemble due to the restrictions imposed by the presence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
