This is the thirteenth year of the program designed to inculcate in our bi-cultural children a sense of identity and pride in their native Igbo culture by teaching key aspects of the culture with the hope of developing in them respect for self and others, leadership by service, responsibility to the community, and the nation as a whole. We pursue these goals through mentoring; field trips; various classroom activities; teaching the Igbo language; singing; dancing; drumming; preparing and cooking ethnic foods; and other cultural activities. We will continue to help our children build self-esteem and self-sufficiency while helping them overcome academic, social, and cultural barriers to success.
