Mother's Day Celebration

Each year, the Igbo Women League (IWL) of Minnesota celebrates its annual Mother’s Day and fundraising event.
For another memorable Mother's Day celebration and fund raising, join us:

5K /1K Wellness Run-Walk

IWL Wellness Run-Walk is held annually with 100% of the proceeds used to fund projects for the Youth Mentoring and Leadership program.

Join us this year as we mark the 11th annual 5K/1K Wellness Run-Walk event.

Date: Saturday, May 3rd 2025.
Time: 9am
Location: Central Park, 8440 Regent Ave N., Brooklyn Park, MN.

Free Mammogram

IWL and Minnesota Department of Health (MDH), in partnership with ODAM medical group, are excited to offer free mammogram to all eligible women aged 40 years and older.

*Date: Saturday, April 12th, 2025

Time: 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Location: 7200 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Center, MN 55429.

Youth Mentoring and Leadership Program (YMLP)

The Youth Mentoring and Leadership Program for Children of African Descent (YMLP) runs on Saturdays for 12 weeks every summer from middle of June through August.

For this year, YMLP commences on Saturday, June 15, 2025.
Time: 10am - 1pm


Through field trips, classroom activities, teaching the Igbo language, singing, dancing, drumming, preparing and cooking ethnic foods as well as other cultural activities, IWL continue to help children build self-esteem and self-sufficiency while helping them overcome academic, social, and cultural barriers to success.
